Tips and Tricks to Skate Spot Perfection
Skateboarding tricks can be difficult to learn, but your comfort level will skyrocket when you master them. If you’re having trouble with a certain trick or just want to find some new spots to practice at, try these great tips and tricks to skate spot perfection. They’ll have you sailing down the street with ease in no time!
Before You Go
1. Make sure you know the rules before you go. If you're in a skatepark, there's probably an attendant or person who runs it that can tell you what they are. 2. Bring your own equipment if possible - many spots don't have the best quality boards, wheels, or bearings 3. Pack a lunch, water bottle and snacks if necessary 4. Wear sunscreen 5. Give back!
Avoid a Cracked Skull
1. Always wear a helmet, it may save your life.
2. Watch for cracks in the skate spot before you take a jump. 2. If there is not a lot of people skating at that skate spot, it is probably because of the danger involved (or because someone just got their skull cracked).
When on the spot
If you're new to skateboarding, make sure you're wearing protective gear. You don't want to get injured on your first day out! For beginners, start with just popping the board up on one end and pushing it down. Once you've mastered that, try balancing the board on your tippy toes for a couple seconds before putting it back down.
Dress for Success
Dressing for success is a term that has been around since the 1980s. It means wearing clothes that are appropriate for the task at hand. If you're heading into a formal business meeting, you'll want to wear a suit or dress that is professional and office-appropriate. If you're going on an interview for a job with the company's HR department, wear casual clothes like jeans or khakis with a collared shirt.
